A woman can never be a pastor. It is entirely insignificant what theological degree, experience or personal qualities she might have, neither what denominational authority ordained her for ministry; there is still simply no such thing as a female pastor.
Today’s phenomenon of women seeking ordination is essentially prevalent all throughout Christendom. In large parts of mainstream evangelicalism, pentecostalism and charismatic circles a female pastor is barely even a topic of discussion anymore.
Radical feminism and modernist ideas have so thoroughly seeped into churches that it is common even in historical denominations like the Anglican Church and a majority of the world’s Lutheran churches to have females ordained for the ministry. Even in ancient institutions like the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox churches there are active communities of modernists pushing for women’s so-called “right” to ordination.
This of course is folly in light of the Bible and is to be understood as nothing less than a fall from the faith and a sign of the end times. This because every time the Bible deals with the subject of ordination, or, who is suitable to be an elder or a pastor, the qualifications always include it being a man.
Paul gives specific instructions for the qualifications of elders, or pastors, here
“5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” – Titus 1:5-9 (KJV)
And here including deacons
“1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.” – 1 Timothy 3:1-12
Furthermore, the bible distinctly commands that women are to neither have authority over the man, nor to speak in the church.
“11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” – 1 Timothy 2:11-12
Christianity is not intendent as a smörgåsbord religion, God means what he says and says what he means. With clear scripture on the matter, there should be no question in our minds whether female ordination is valid or not.
The unbelieving modernists will soon say “Oh, but there are female prophets and judges in the old testament!” as if they thought of some profound foundation for their heretical views.
Bare in mind then the context of those scriptures, that it is not a matter of ordained ministry of the new testament church. Not only that, but if such an argument is to be made, one simultaneously has to say that the Bible contradicts itself. It is therefore foolish.
Likewise, even if there would be, for example, ordained female levitical priests in the old testament, christian doctrine is not founded on old testament scripture as primary source for doctrine, especially doctrine that is directly expounded upon in the new testament.
Through the new testament we understand the fullness of scripture, since we are under a new, better covenant. We are obliged to adhear to it. (Heb 8:6, 13)
