Välsignelsen i dubbla gudstjänster

Idag var jag i kyrkan med familjen. En broder predikade om Mose liv och exempel. Det var bra. Han nämnde i förbigående fenomenet att det är olika personer som kommer på söndagsmorgnar, än vad det är som kommer söndagskvällar och onsdagskvällar.

Inom independent fundamental baptistkyrkor (oberoende fundamentala baptistkyrkor) är det nämligen kutym att ha tre gudstjänster per vecka, vilka man förväntas gå på om man är hängiven kristen. Det är en gammal tradition som lever kvar.

Man märker ganska snabbt att de som går ut och knackar dörr för att predika evangeliet, som kan sin Bibel och försöker att leva därefter, det är de som kommer på alla tre gudstjänster varje vecka. “Three to thrive” kallas det, alltså tanken att om man går på tre gudstjänster per vecka så frodas ens kristna liv, medan man hankar sig fram om man bara går på en.

Med min övertid och hektiska schema har vi haft svårt att gå mer än en gång i veckan. Även det har varit en kamp många gånger, och dessutom blir det svårt med alla barn. Men nu när brodern som predikade nämnde detta idag så tänkte jag att vi borde gå ikväll också!

Sagt och gjort kom vi iväg trots allt som måste förberedas inför måndag och ny vecka. Min vän, kyrkans bibliskt kvalificerade diakon, predikade om att välja att leva för Gud efter att vi blivit frälsta. Det var bra. Men det faktum att vi faktiskt kom dit, fick träffa och språka med bröderna och systrarna i tron och att barnen fick träna på att sitta ner och höra Guds ord, innan de fick leka med sina vänner, tror jag var viktigare.

Det blev till välsignelse, och jag blev själv uppmuntrad något av Guds ord. De två gudstjänsterna ramade in dagen fint, som för att helga hela söndagen. Vissa traditioner är tomma och obibliska, men andra är bra och kan stärka de frälsta i deras tro.

It is a shame for a man to have long hair

You might have noticed how the world we live in has become very ungodlgy.

Everywhere you look there´s misery, violence, unrighteusness and perversion. Living in the last days, as the Scriptures say that we are, reminds us about what Isaiah says that “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil…” (Isaiah 5:20, KJV)

Isn´t that how it is today? Sin is considered the norm. On TV there are commercials that explicitly encourage married people to commit adultery in secret, at the universities transgender bathrooms are being installed for the deviant perverts that don´t “identify” as either male or female, men are wearing women clothing and women are wearing men´s clothing. The list of insanity could go on.

The Bible flay out says that “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.” (Deu 22:5)

Most basic clothing that men wear are clothing that women also may wear. A sweatshirt, a t-shirt, socks and such items comes to mind. Most female clothing however are items that a man would never wear. For example a skirt, a dress, a bra or pantyhose. It becomes clear that the only clothing that are specifically considered men´s clothing, as the verse says “…that which pertaineth unto a man…” are pants. Clearly the Scripture is saying that pants are man´s clothing, and is not to be worn by women.

Furthermore, the fashion that men are suppose to have long hair is an abomination before The Lord God. When Paul writes the thessalonians he gives clear instructions on how they are to have their church services. Among other things, he clearifies that a woman should have her head covered, something that many christians have interpreted as wearing a vail or something else to cover her hair, even though the Bible literally says “…her hair is given her for a covering.” (1 Cor 11:15 KJV)

God´s commandment is that women are to have long hair, not that they are to cover their hair with a vail or a hat.

But Paul also speaks to the men (and bare in mind that this was in a greek culture where a lot of sodomy and sissieness was usual in society) and he says “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” (1 Cor 11:14)  

Paul is basically saying, “Hey guys, don´t you get how embarrassing it is for grown men to look like little girls with long hair?”

That´s exactly how it is in this day and age. Boys and men dressing like sodomites, with a little sissified knot on their head. It is a shame!

When Job complained before God, God answered him and said “Gird up now thy loins like a man…” (Job 38:3)

God had gotten tired of Job whining and thought that he should man up!

What do you think that God thinks of these sissie christians with long hair and skinny jeans? Do you think it is what God intended when he created mankind is His image? God thinks that it is a shame!

When God tells you to cut your hair, you answer – Yes sir!
